General Admission Requirements for NWU 2026/2027

To gain admission through UTME, candidates must:

• Choose NWU (YMSUK) as their first-choice institution or apply for a change of institution through JAMB.

• Score the university’s approved JAMB cut-off mark.

• Possess at least five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings.

• Have the correct JAMB subject combination for the chosen course.

• Participate in and satisfy the university’s Post-UTME screening requirements. 

Direct Entry Requirements

Candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry must:

• Meet the O’Level requirements.

• Possess any of the following:

  • ND with the required grade

  • NCE with Merit or above

  • IJMB or JUPEB

  • GCE Advanced Level

  • HND (where applicable)

• Register for Direct Entry through JAMB and submit the required credentials during screening. 

O’Level Requirements

Applicants are generally expected to have:

• Five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects.

• English Language is compulsory for virtually all programs.

• Mathematics is compulsory for Science, Computing, Social Science, Management, and many Education programs.

• O’Level results should not exceed two sittings.
