NOUN General Admission Requirements 2026/2027

For most 100-level undergraduate programs, candidates are generally required to have at least five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. The exact subjects depend on the program.

Accepted O’Level qualifications include:

  • WAEC/SSCE
  • NECO
  • GCE
  • NABTEB
  • Other recognized equivalent qualifications

Candidates should also meet any additional subject requirements attached to their chosen program.

NOUN Direct Entry Requirements

NOUN also admits qualified candidates into higher levels depending on their previous qualifications.

200 Level Entry

Candidates may be considered for 200-level admission with qualifications such as:

  • National Diploma (ND)
  • National Certificate in Education (NCE)
  • IJMB
  • Other recognized equivalent qualifications

The exact grade and subject requirements depend on the program. NOUN’s current policy, for example, provides for certain three-year degree routes using NCE, IJMB or ND qualifications.

300 Level Entry

Candidates with an appropriate HND may be considered for 300-level entry where the program permits it, subject to the required O’Level subjects and other program-specific conditions.

Does NOUN Require JAMB for Admission?

NOUN’s admission process differs from the conventional UTME process used by many Nigerian universities. Prospective students apply directly through the university’s admission portal and check their qualifications against the specific program before applying.

Therefore, applicants should not assume that meeting the general O’Level requirement automatically qualifies them for every NOUN program.
