What is Admission List?

Admission list is the list that contains the name of the candidates that have been offered a provisional admission into a particular school to study a certain course.

Take for instance, the University of Abuja UNIABUJA admission list is the list that contains the name of the candidates that have been offered a provisional admission into the University of Abuja to study a given course.

Hope you understand?

Okay, the admission list is categorized into two. They are;

1. Merit admission list
2. Non-merit admission list

What is Merit Admission List

Merit list is the list that contains the name of candidates that have been offered admission based on merit! That is, they meet up with their course’s cut off Mark! Usually, they are those that beat their department’s cut off Mark with a very wide margin.

Take for instance, a candidate who scores 360 for a course whose cut off Mark is 245. The candidate is much more likely to be in the merit list than a candidate who scores 255. This list is usually called the First List!

What is Non-merit Admission List

Non-merit Admission List is the list of names of the candidates that have been offered admission who did not meet the cut off Mark of the course they chose during the admission process but somehow managed to meet the general Cut off Mark! This list is usually called the Second list.

Although, sometimes, those that meet their courses’ cut off Mark can be in the non-merit list and this is simply because, the gap between the cut off mark and the candidate’s score is very small!

There is another list called supplementary list, and I will classify it under non-merit list. This list is usually called the third list!

UNIABUJA Admission List 2026/2027

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) Admission List for the 2026/2027 academic session is one of the most important updates candidates who applied to the university are waiting for.

If you applied for admission into UNIABUJA through UTME or Direct Entry, you could check your admission status online through the appropriate official platforms. However, candidates should be careful with unofficial websites claiming to have released admission lists or asking applicants to pay money to check their names.

As of August 21, 2026, the official University of Abuja website does not currently show a published 2026/2027 undergraduate admission-list announcement among its latest news updates. The university’s official admission information confirms that undergraduate admission involves UTME and the University’s Post-UTME screening process.

This article explains how to check the UNIABUJA Admission List 2026/2027, how to check subsequent batches, how to use JAMB CAPS, and what to do if you have not yet been admitted.

Is UNIABUJA Admission List 2026/2027 Out?

No official 2026/2027 undergraduate admission-list release has been confirmed on the University of Abuja’s official website as of August 2026.

The official UNIABUJA website currently displays other 2026 university updates, but its latest-news section does not list a 2026/2027 undergraduate admission-list release.

Therefore, candidates should not assume that an unofficial admission-list website is genuine simply because it says that the UNIABUJA first, second or third batch has been released.

Once the university officially releases an admission list, candidates should use the university’s official portal and JAMB CAPS to confirm their admission status.

What Is the UNIABUJA Admission List?

The UNIABUJA admission list contains the names of candidates who have been offered admission to study at the University of Abuja for a particular academic session.

Admission may be processed in stages. As a result, a candidate who does not find their name in an initial list should not immediately conclude that they have been rejected.

Admission lists may be released in different batches depending on the university’s admission process and available spaces.

Candidates may see references to different batches as the admission process progresses.

These can include:

Important: The existence and timing of a particular batch should only be confirmed when UNIABUJA or JAMB officially publishes the information. Do not rely on a blog or social-media post as proof that a specific batch has been released.

How to Know if UNIABUJA Has Offered You Admission

The safest way to confirm your UNIABUJA admission is to check your status through official channels.

You should look for an admission status such as:

• Admitted

• Admission in Progress

• Not Admitted

You should not rely solely on a WhatsApp message, SMS, Facebook post or third-party admission website. JAMB CAPS is particularly important because JAMB manages the centralized admission process and candidates can use their JAMB profile to monitor their admission status.

What to Do If UNIABUJA Admission Status Says “Not Admitted”

Do not panic if your JAMB CAPS initially says Not Admitted. Admission processing may still be ongoing. If UNIABUJA has not completed its admission process, your status may change later.

You should:

• Continue checking your JAMB CAPS account.

• Monitor the official UNIABUJA website.

• Check your email and phone for genuine university communications.

• Confirm that your O’Level results have been properly uploaded to JAMB where applicable.

• Avoid paying anyone who claims they can guarantee admission.

• Wait for official updates about subsequent admission batches.

What If My Name Is Not on the First UNIABUJA Admission List?

Not seeing your name on the first list does not automatically mean that you will not gain admission. If UNIABUJA releases more batches, candidates who were not included in an earlier list may be considered later, depending on the university’s admission process. Continue checking both the university’s official admission portal and JAMB CAPS.

Can I Check UNIABUJA Admission List with My Phone?

Yes. You can use a smartphone to access the UNIABUJA portal or JAMB e-Facility and check your admission status. You only need a working internet connection and the correct login details. If you use a public computer or another person’s device, remember to log out after checking your admission status.

UNIABUJA Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Candidates

UNIABUJA states that candidates seeking admission into 100 level must have five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. Three of the credits must be relevant to the intended degree programme.

Candidates must also have an acceptable UTME score and participate in the University’s Post-UTME screening process.  For Direct Entry admission, the university states that candidates generally need at least two A-Level passes or equivalent, together with the required O’Level credits.

Specific departmental requirements may vary, so candidates should always confirm the requirements for their chosen course.

• Give your JAMB password to another person.

• Share your OTP or banking PIN.

• Download suspicious applications claiming to be UNIABUJA admission software.

• Trust screenshots as proof of admission.
